Grants made in 2017

In 2017, the Trust made:

  • grants to a value of £4500
  • 17 promises to make grants to a value of £52500.

£57000 is the second largest sum to which the Trust has committed itself to in a year.

In the year, it also paid out 8 grants to a value of £37000 in fulfilment of earlier promises to make grants.

It made 3 successful recommendations to the National Churches Trust under the Partnership Agreement between the two Trusts as a result of which two churches in the county will each receive £5000 and one church £2500.

2017 Ride and Stride

The 2017 Ride and Stride produced the excellent result of £34423 and £5490 in Gift Aid - a total of £39913. This is the largest annual sum raised by the Trust.

2018 – Northamptonshire -  Britain’s Best surprise – the year of the church

Northamptonshire is blessed with an extraordinary number of remarkable and beautiful church buildings in its villages and towns. In 2018 we celebrate these great riches; architectural, spiritual and historical waiting to be discovered, some dating back as far as 680AD, many before the Norman Conquest.

Help the Trust

The Trustees wish to recruit people to take part in running the Trust generally – especially by helping with the organisation of the Ride and Stride, publicising the activities of the Trust, seeking sponsorship from local companies and recruiting more Friends of the Trust. If you would like to help the Trust in any of these ways or generally, please contact Ruth Fitch at 01604 463325, or

The Trust wishes to increase the number of its Friends. An application form may be downloaded from the Friends section of this website.

The Trustees will be considering grant applications from churches in April. If your church is considering making an application for a grant, it should do so sooner rather than later. The application form can be downloaded from this website where the criteria applied by the trustees in considering grant applications is also to be found.
